Welding Course – Introduction to Welding
Course length 4 Hours. – Hands on Lab 100%.
Monday through Thursday – Based upon availability. Student selects class day and time.

4 hours of training
Practical welding training - Practice positions - 1F, 1G, 2F, 2G positions
Course Description – This course is designed for the first time welder. It will allow the student to weld in 3 different processes, FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding), GMAW( Gas Metal Arc Welding/ MIG) and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding/ Stick)
Course Objective – By the end of the class session, the student should have basic knowledge of welding safety, and how to strike an arc and form a puddle in each process.
Classroom Instruction: Shop and field safety standards, rules and regulations needed to develop safe work ethics.
Lab/Shop: Hands on welding with each process in the 1F, 1G, 2F, 2G positions.
PROCESSES: SMAW – Stick welding – used widely in the construction industry. It is the most commonly used commercial welding process. The process is used for the fabrication of many items such as buildings, stadiums and bridges in several industries. GMAW – MIG Welding – used widely in the fabrication industry. It is the most commonly used welding process in many fabrication industries.
