Welding Course – AWS D1.1 - SMAW – Structural Welding Basics:
8 week course/not to exceed 40 Hours. – Hands on Lab 100%.
Monday through Saturday – Student selects class days & times, but a minimum of 6 class hours per week is required to stay in class.
COURSE PRICE – $2,500- Includes:
Up to 40 hours if training
Practical welding training - Practice 2F, 3F, & 4F Fillet joints
Practical welding training - introduction/ practice 2G, 3G & 4G positions
Course Description – Preparation for certification in AWS D1.1 (Structural Welding) , SMAW Process.
Course Objective – By the end of the class session, the student should be able to weld fillet and groove welds in all positions. The student should be able to apply the proper welding techniques to T joints, Lap joints and Groove welds as needed in the welding industry.
Classroom Instruction: Shop and field safety standards, rules and regulations needed to develop safe work ethics.
Lab/Shop: Hands on welding with F4 (low hydrogen) electrodes. Proper technique in welding T- Joints and
V-Groove Joints. Instruction required for proper and adequate placement of the weldment in the required test positions.
PROCESSES: SMAW – Stick welding – used widely in the construction industry. It is the most commonly used commercial welding process. The process is used for the fabrication of many items such as buildings, stadiums and bridges in several industries.
Prerequisite- Completion of Structural Welding Basics or prior welding experience required

Practice - practice 1"- unlimited V-Groove pre test in the 3G & 4G positions
